This course is designed to give students a business-oriented review of the basic computational math skills and a working knowledge of its mathematical applications and procedures. The course focuses on the quantitative and analytical methods in the context of practical business applications to enhance essential problem solving skills of business students. This course will provide students with solid preparation and foundation for going on to courses and careers in accounting, marketing, retailing, banking, finance, and business administration. QMBS 2305  Business Statistics I

Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques for business and economic decision making. Topics include the collection, description, analysis, and summarization of data; probability; discrete and continuous random variables; the binomial and normal distributions; sampling distributions; tests of hypotheses; estimation and confidence intervals, linear regression; and correlation analysis. Statistical software is used to analyze data throughout the course. (QMBS 2305 is included in the Business Field of Study.) Formerly BUAD 2305. TSI Restriction(s): Reading, Math, and Writing

QMBS 3360  Business Statistics II

This course is a continuation of Business Statistics I. This series explores descriptive and inferential statistical techniques for business and economic decision making. Building on the concepts and application learned in QMBS 2305, this course focuses on the statistical concepts including, but not limited to, hypothesis testing, goodness-of-fit, tests of independence, analysis of variance (ANOVA), linear and multiple regression, and time series.
